TTE International is a globally renowned provider of technical training and consultancy services that deliver skills development programmes for technicians and graduates in the engineering, energy, process, chemical, mining, and manufacturing sectors. TTE has over 20 years of experience in providing bespoke training and competency solutions to the needs of industry sectors and specific geographical locations.
In 2009, TTE International signed a contract worth $450 000 with the Atlantic Methanol Production Company (AMPCO) in Equatorial Guinea, to undertake on-the-job training and assessment of 100+ technicians to National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in engineering maintenance disciplines and process operations, to enable their career development. It is notably clear that the contract was a result of the successful delivery of the off-the-job training and assessment to NVQ Level 2 programmes undertaken in the United Kingdom.
To deliver these qualifications, TTE set up a satellite
centre through the Process Awards Authority (PAA/VQ-SET). TTE provided peripatetic assessors and verifiers regularly, and covered Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, and Process Operations disciplines from 2009 and added to the remit, in 2012, a laboratory qualification. During the contract, TTE activities included: assessment and IQA of technicians to NVQ Level 3 standards in line with nationalization programmes; laboratory improvements to ISO17025 and skills gap analysis and analytical operation provision; mentoring and coaching, among others.
AMPCO shared satisfaction with the project, grading it as extremely successful as the technicians trained achieved their qualifications and the percentage of local employees increased. The HR Director of AMPCO, Byron Suleiman, stated: “TTE remains a key strategic partner for our organisation and has been a key contributor to our achievement of increasing the % of national employees from 55% to its current level of 88% during the period of our association with them…”.
