The Fundação Galp, in partnership with FUNAE – Energy Fund, inaugurated on Saturday, February 16, in Chissinguana, district of Búzi, located in Sofala Province, its first Solar Village in Mozambique. This project benefits more than 1,400 inhabitants of that community with the electrification of 62 infrastructures, including residences, commercial stalls, the Village administrative office, a hospital, and public lighting.

The program results from an investment of 600 thousand Euros and has a capacity of 30 KWp. The project, beyond Sofala, aims to benefit about 6000 people through the installation of solar photovoltaic systems in Cabo Delgado and Manica.

With the arrival of Energiza, daily life became different for a population that had never lived with electricity. In the village of Chissinguane they now have access to frozen fish and fresh water. And the electrification of infrastructure such as trade stands and health units, such as the local hospital, has definitely changed the lives of these Mozambicans.
